In September 2024, NKT launched a new cohort of its international trainee program, welcoming participants in Sweden, Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Poland, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands. The program offers roles in technology, innovation, and business, with trainees rotating through various departments. Upon completion, participants may receive offers for permanent positions in their home countries.

Why did you choose this trainee position?
After graduating with a degree in International Relations and European Studies, I worked as a Project Manager at the Association of private farming of the Czech Republic. I was looking for a career shift, and the NKT trainee program presented an excellent opportunity.
How did you hear about the program, and what attracted you to it?
I discovered it on Jobs.cz. What stood out to me was the program’s duration of 18 months, longer than most similar programs, and the opportunity for international rotations. This combination provides incredible potential for both professional and personal development. The chance to work in different countries and experience diverse cultures is particularly appealing. Additionally, working across multiple departments gives a comprehensive understanding of how the company operates.
How do you think this program will help you achieve your career goals?
The international rotations and time spent in the Kladno plant allow me to gain insights into various departments and their priorities. This holistic experience equips me with the skills and knowledge needed to collaborate effectively with colleagues across NKT. Moreover, I am building valuable connections and working alongside inspiring people, which will undoubtedly benefit my career.

The program is ideal for individuals who want to understand the broader context of their work. The collaboration with colleagues and leadership is extremely friendly and supportive, fostering a welcoming work environment. The leadership team is approachable and open to our ideas and feedback.
What advice would you give to someone considering a trainee position in this field?
Don’t hesitate—go for it! NKT offers numerous opportunities to develop and grow. Be prepared to embrace new challenges, communicate your expectations and needs openly, and stay proactive. Be open to new experiences, and don’t be afraid to ask for help or advice. Your colleagues and leadership are there to support you and help you succeed.
